This is what a day off from work in summer looks like. If you are living in WA state, this is a must see. I mean you absolutely cannot skip it. The food was great since most of the restaurants started in the early 1900s. So, you’ll get to taste what real fries taste like. Let me know if you are going, I can suggest a few.
It’s always a little christmassy in Leavenworth.
My love for animal print.
What we woke up to.
If nature were a girl, this is what she’d look like in black. I think.
The gorgeous Lake Chelan
Mount St. Helens is one of the most temperamental active volcanoes in the pacific northwest with the last recorded eruption in 1980. Every step you take screams ‘returned from the dead’ here. I don’t know how it looked prior to the eruption, but the barrenness only adds to the mind numbing serenity of this place now.
We took Murali’s parents here when they were visiting last year and they were absolutely thrilled. We put our cameras and phones away for a little bit and gazed at one of the most treacherous intrigues of nature for as long as we could.
I am scheming to take Murali here again next week and I can’t wait to go back.
St. Helens reaching for the skies.
A muddy river below the mountain, hugely altered by the eruption followed by the run of ash and debris.
It’s a driver’s delight.
The eruption washed out it’s wilderness back in 1980 and it continues to be a stark landscape to this day.
Oh the landscape.
